Re: New England Westinghouse with M91RV recycled stock

I was revisiting this post to see if anyone had posted pics of their RV stocks and I noticed something about mine that I hadnt noticed before. Neals recycled stock is an M91RV stock rear section finger joined to the front half of a standard M91 stock....Mine however is an M91RV rear section finger j...

Re: Fake spotted

The flat screws on the scope give it away as a repro. I agree, but I saw a post where someone said the screws on a scope 'might have been replaced but the scope is legit'. Thats why I try to find as much possible to make my argument. The fact that the two serials match identically cant be explained...

Re: This is my Mosin

Izhevsk Ordnace Factory. They made M91's 1919-1926 and Dragoons 1919-1928. The front globe sight and the rear sight show it to be an ex-dragoon as they have been updated post WWII to the 91/30 configeration. Very nice rifle. I want one!

Re: Fake spotted

I'll push the info back through the crowd his way, but I'm sure it wont matter. Some people are always right whatever evidence they see....

I will however if I ever see it for sale anywhere let the prospective buyers know.

I'll take a few this weekend but the rest of the rifle is pretty much unremarkable. :)

Fake spotted

So here's a sniper rifle that someone showed me and went on and on that the guy who sold it to him in NC said there are lots of fakes out there but this one is the real deal. Few suspicious things: Its a 1938 Izhevsk...The turret screws are not domed, the stop pins are long, and the import mark is p...

Re: 1943 Tikka 91/30 Question

IMHO..I dont want to speak for anyone else... Spanish Civil War and Chinese Mosins are the only ones where I'd say mismatch is ok. Beyond that the goal is for matching first. I have mismatches, but would have preffered matching. Again my two cents..... :2cents:

There were a bunch on GB for $179-$199. Looks like only a few left there too. And man were they beat to hell and back!

Re: Has anyone else seen this marking?

Still hoping someone else has the same mark and posts pics. I was looking over the arsenal marking list and most of the marks a pretty simply. This mark is pretty elaborate in comparison...Im not really asking the meaning as much as Im asking everyone to look at their recievers and post if you have ...

Has anyone else seen this marking?

I was reading a post about DDR markings on another site and there was a post by Artemus of a mark that he has on a '39 Tula that was quite different from anything I had seen. He asked if anyone else had seen it and did not get any responses. This is his marking to the right of the star: firstone.jpg...

Re: How about this import mark

Thanks Lotema! I just started this collecting fairly recently compared to a lot of guys here. I have been watching the sniper auctions like a hawk and havent seen that import mark on a sniper yet. It made me wonder if it meant it was a legit sniper or not. It sold for just over 700 when a few have g...
