Izhevsk Ordnace Factory. They made M91's 1919-1926 and Dragoons 1919-1928. The front globe sight and the rear sight show it to be an ex-dragoon as they have been updated post WWII to the 91/30 configeration. Very nice rifle. I want one!

Didi11 that's a very nice updated Dragoon, I like the fact that they didn't sand off all the numbers and stamps from the stock when it was updated to the M91/30 configuration. Congrats
On second look, it appears the stock was replaced at update or refurb with wartime version. Still nice to have all the stamps visible.

This is your Mosin, there are many like it but this one is yours... :)

Now learn the rest of that if you don't know it already and repeat the chant every time you clean the Mosin and before bedtime every night.

Nice ex dragoon Izhevsk, and this one comes from Russia to start with, Izhevsk is steel city were they had, and still have a huge firearms manufacturing facility. Under the Czar, and the Soviets Izhevsk churned out the largest number of Mosin rifles of all models. Welcome to the board, and your first Mosin.

I'm very happy to know that I own now a true collector rifle and overall thank you very very much to everyone who replied to my post. I need now to find a nice original belt for my Dragoon Mosin  and may be a complete and original Russian wwII uniform

Nicely done sir! I was trying to find a clever way to do justice to that quote.

Thanks :)

Very simple to obtain the permission to own this firearm in France beacause this one is in category C (Firearms in France are divised in 4 catégories:A,B,C,D,D2

C: we just need to be a member of a shot club + medical certificate, after a while we receive the National License and with this one we can buy all the firearms in category C

For all the other categories you can take a look on my presentation, everything is described as the best I can.

Didi11, here is a link to our ebay. I believe Europe has a version also. This is the type sling that would be correct for your rifle. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Soviet ... xy3zNSmOpe

The sling in the eBay link actually ships from Moscow Russia, not the USA so you will probably receive it faster.

So Mosinitis spreads worldwide. You have a nice rifle. It will get lonely and need a friend. This is a nice forum, people are polite, helpful and very newbie tolerant.
We have met the enemy and he is us.
