New to me 91/24

Post by Fledge »

Cleaned'er up today. Bohler Stahl barrel, which is very clean looking. I believe it is a 1916 Sestroryetsk receiver. Sestroryetsk bolt body, cocking piece, rear sight leaf, and magazine. Remington bolt head. Thanks for looking.

Finn army went crazy with the SA stamp on this one. I count four, two over the civil guard logo and two on the left side of receiver. The guy took his job seriously.

Nice find, double SA stamp I see, nice dark stock.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

That's the first time I saw the army stamp on top of the civil guard mark - interesting!
I see it has the "christmas tree" mark, but it doesn't look like the barrel has been cut - anyone know what that may mean...? It's the second time I've seen the mark on an apparent full barrel.
You got a good rifle there Fledge - congrats!

It does not mean a cut back barrel I know that from having looked at dozens of them but what it really does mean is unknown to me or the explanations of what people say it means is not substantiated enough for me. Just went through about a half dozen 91/24's and found some real interesting ones with post and pictures over on Tuco's board. Bill
