I swear it always ends up being about some meat by-product with you guys.

Do you ever go to another forum and read a thread about refinishing a Mosin and physically get angry inside? "Well the shellac was a little beat up so..." is my kryptonite. I mostly refrain from responding unless someone has defiled a rarity, but MAN it irritates me. :mad:

I wholeheartedly agree. Nobody can ever tell me why they are ugly, just that they are. I think they are beautiful, varied rifles.

The stock is dirty and unfinished. Any thoughts on what to finish it with? I was thinking either truoil or blo. I dont want any poly, just a nice functional oil finish.

well the brass stackers mount isn't meant to be a permanent alteration, the way it's designed is... 1.) knock out the pins holding the rear sight on 2.)install mount onto the rear sight and if you ever want to go back to stock then just pop of the mount and put the pins back in... as far as refinis...

:soapbox: I would stay with the Ten, they use stripper clips. Makes you aim more rather then shooting faster. Just my two cents.
