Re: best paper targets for the Mosin sights?

It's not paper, but I have a couple old aluminum fry pans I hang and shoot. Can't hear it hit, but I can see the pan move. I can usually hit 4/5 at 125 yards. Just tonight I picked up a 'self healing' flat bowling pin looking thing. We'll see how long it lasts. I have more fun shooting things like n...

Re: New Ex Sniper please comment

I think I have some Romanian, head stamped 22 on top and 80 on the bottom. It has a more consistent color than the Russian or Bulgarian I have been getting lately. It came in the usual string wrapped brown paper. It goes bang every time. The Bulgarian I've been shooting lately splits a lot of necks....

Re: Finnish Capture accuracy problem

I was talking about on the nail, maybe on the magnet if I can get thru the nickel/ceramic, take a deep breath and slow down! Yeah, a spacer is probably the way to go on this one. Besides, any filing will be on the stock, with a belt sander, to get ready for some hot neon pink and green camo!!! Anoth...

Re: Finnish Capture accuracy problem

I tried it at the range today, doesn't move under recoil but it does if you lean the rifle on anything. Good idea but needs refining. Filing indexing flats to locate it after it gets moved may help. On my Finnish M91 the rear sight notch disappears at base (all the way back) setting. I left the nail...

Re: do you save your change?

I found a real silver quarter in my pocket change the other day, haven't seen one of them turn up in a while.

I save nearly every $5 bill I get, they go to my savings/retirement/guns and ammo fund.

Re: Finnish Capture accuracy problem

I got a bag of 10 at Harbor Freight for around 2 bucks. Not sure if Lowes has the neo magnets, they have black ceramic ones usually. Good hardware or surplus places may have them, or check online (lots of supermagnet guys).

If you really can't find any send me a PM and I can send a couple out to you.

Re: Finnish Capture accuracy problem

I hope this pic works, it's my hack for my m91 that shoots a foot or so high. It hsas a terrible trigger too, I'm guessing 20 pounds, and really late. Bummer. It's a small supermagnet (neodymium!) from Horrible Fright and a clipped finishing nail. Maybe I should use a Finnish nail? It's too tall, no...
