3rd. Bought a 17HMR

Post by ZKend »

So I bought a Savage 93R17 from a buddy for $140, he knew that i liked "that old stuff" so he threw in a free Mosin with the deal. A '42 Izhevsk 91/30 which has a few interesting stamps which i will post later

Anything out of the ordinary?

The "0" on the round part of the receiver interested me and so did the stamp that looks like a "4", the 2 in a circle and the 2 on the soviet crest intrigued me as well.

Many marks like you show will never be known the meaning of. Just taken today as inspection marks of some kind. Refurbs are full of them and older Mosins are loaded too especially below the wood line. Free is always good unless OB says it of course! Bill
