This is a 1942 Finnish B-Barrel M39 rifle, they are called B-Barrels because of the "B" stamped on the barrel wich is believed to denote them as being Mfg with barrel blanks from Belgium. Both M39's and M91's where produced with these barrels with total production of M39's believed to be between 9-10,000 though exact figures are not known. Even though the barrels are all dated 1942 B- Barreled M39's where all produced post war which explains there post war stocks and general excellent condition. The M39 is considered to be the zenith of Mosin Nagant design as an infantry rifle and are highly sought after by collectors and shooters. This B-Barrel is a mix of Izhevsk & Remington parts, and is "Finn Matching" meaning the bolt and reciever #'s match.
