Polish M44

Post by BuckeyeSgt »

Discussion section

This is one of my favorite military surplus rifles that I have acquired. It is a 1952 Polish 44. All the Polish M44's were produced at Radom. Production years seem to vary by source, but most put them from 1951-1955. The arsenal mark is the prominent 11 inside of a circle located on the barrel shank. The Polish carbines followed the Soviet post war pattern M44. The Polish examples have some of the best fit and finish when compared to the other countries that produced the M44. The other countries that produced the M44 were Hungary, China, Romania and the Soviet Union (Russia).

This example was acquired from a private collector. He believed that the rifle may not have ever been fired. (I have no reason to not believe this as we talk often and the condition of the rifle.) This one also came with the green Polish sling. A picture of the green painted buckle is Included in the pictures. Questions or critiques welcome.
