This is an example of a Finnish M39 that goes against the norm, a 1944 Sako M39 with a pre-war style stock. The metal finish is very sparse showing a great deal of use, the original stock may have been damaged beyond repair. Being a prewar stock, this stock could be from a Finnish Depot repair or field repair to return the rifle to service. The stock itself also had a rough life, having two repairs made at some point. This particular rifle the bolt and receiver match, the magazine does not. There is no markings on the butt plate or stock. The bore shows some wear, and the hex receiver is a 1905 Izhevsk.
