Mossberg SA 28

Post by Sonny »

I haven't bought a gun for awhile but just picked up a new Mossberg SA 28 gauge.I like my Remington 870 express in 28 so I just had to geta semi auto.
The gun is made in Turkey by Armsan for Mossberg.Armsan also makes the weatherby SA shotguns too.The quality looks pretty darn good and it has a nice walnut stock, five different choke tubes and four stock spacers so you can lengthen it to your liking.
I took it out and blasted over two boxes of ammo and burned my finger on the hot barrel. :P

The only drawback is that it does not eject low brass ammo.I tried high brass Federal and Challenger ammo with no problem.Tried some low brass Fiocchi and there just wasn't enough there to kick out the spent hull.
These guns are just like the Turkish made Weatherbys except the Weatherbys come with two gas cylinders. One for high brass ammo and one for low brass. No big deal really as all my chicken hunting ammo is high brass.

Here's a few pics.

Very nice.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
