Winchester Model 12 and Remington 870 Wingmaster

Post by RazorBurn »

Pulled my Winchester Model 12 and Remington 870 Wingmaster out of the safe a few days ago to update pictures of them as the other pictures of them were crappy. It was overcast and was a good excuse to fish around the safe and take a few pictures.

I picked up the Model 12 in 2002 on Gunbroker. It was made in 1919, and is in great shape for it's age. It's a damn fine shooter too. The Model 12 is just the classiest pump action shotgun IMHO. This one is buttery smooth.

The 870 Wingmaster was my 16th birthday present from my Gramps, so it has quite a bit of sentimental value. It's a real solid shooter too, but the Model 12 edges it out. Looking back on my youth, I'm somewhat shocked at how well I took care of it considering I was buck wild as a teenager.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Cool, I inherited a Model 12 20 and a 12 from an uncle 25 years ago. The 20 is my favorite shotgun, many ducks went splash with it.

Nice pair of scatterguns!

computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.

Love them both...have a Remington 1100 in 16 gauge that grandpa bought me to duck hunt 51 years ago this fall and I would never part with it for any price. Grandpa died 6 years after he bought me that gun on my 15th birthday.
