What is the bottom symbol on the receiver? I am on my cell phone and font recognize it.
I actually didnt get all of the markings in. There is one more that is not in the pic. I will take a better shot this evening and post it up.

  Thanks for all of the kind comments. I am pretty thrilled to have it. I passed on one not too long ago, as funds were short, but this time I was able to do it...

Very nice find! Looks just like mine with the thin, blonde, stock... Just the way I like it. Mine is also a cut down M91 stock.

Yours is older than mine by 5 years! :vcool:

Thanks for the nice photos. You got a nice Mosin for a decent price. I was on that auction too.

When I can get in the guest room to my computer, I will add the info on this beauty to my M91/38 database. I have around 75 in it so far. I'm keeping up with Arsenal, date, type of stock, crossbolt if M91 type stock, single digit and serial (to prevent duplications.) Plus any other interesting info (Like the unique splice on this one.)

Neal, any new theories about the single digits?
Of course we all know that '1's are the best.

Appears to be a form of flaming bomb. Not something that I recall seeing, either.
No words of wisdom come to mind at this time....

One of mine has that same symbol, but without the mini deathstar eyeball within the larger circle.

I have not been able to find out anything official on these Mosins but I continue to look with hope that some of the mysteries will someday be revealed. And I still have only 2 of them. I have bid from time to time but others want to pay more than me so far.
