lost a good friend yesterdaay

Post by Buckhead »

:vsad:
My good friends wife called this morning to let us know, that my good friend Bill Krick a retired Fire Chief of 30 years with
The West Palm Beach Fire Department . West Palm Bch. Fl. was missing after he tried to retrieve his flats boat broke loose
from a rented house boat he an two friends rented on a fishing trip in the Everglades National Park , We don't know what happened
as of yet, But the one friend said Bill dove in the water to try to retrieve his flats boat and his friend went to get a life jacket when
he saw Bill having trouble and when he came back Bill was gone. We received word just this afternoon that his body had bean recovered.
Bill was 67 years old and and loved to fish. Bill and his friends do this trip every year. I was invited to go this year but because of a job I had
just taken a contract on would not allow it. I know this type of thing happens all the time, but I cant help but think if I had gone Bill would
be alive today. I would not have let him to try to retrieve that boat alone. Our harts and prayers go out to Bills wife and family. He had just
received news two weeks that he was going to be a Grandpa. I will truly miss you Bill.
:vsad: :vsad: :vsad: :vsad: for sure.

Oh dear God buckhead, I am so sorry. Tragedies like this are much too common this time of year when the weather is hot and the lakes are crowded. A similar story is currently on the Dallas Tx area news as I type this. Hang in there buddy and don't beat yourself up. I am saying a prayer for you and all involved.

Sorry for you loss.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

its sad when you lose a friend or family member but you must remember, now he gets to go be with those that he lost and missed over the years.

I'm sorry for your loss Buckhead and his family. I'm also 67 years old and retired fire dept volunteer for Key Largo,Fla. And I was a rescue scuba diver for the Coast Guard Aux. so your friend was a brother of mine too! I so hate it when we loose one of our finest. Fire Dept. Captains give up much to help others. They are truly worthy of all the gratitude we can show them and their families.God bless.
