I have been trying different loads for my various Mosin Nagants. I have not tried them all yet. I was shooting yesterday and this load suprised me in it's accuracy and lighter recoil. I happen to have excess 4064 powder so thats what I am using presently.
bullet is Sierra 150 grn. jsp spitzer dia. .311
powder 4064 40 grns.
found this combo. is very accurate.
I will be also trying out same bullet with 38 grns. 4064
and 42 grns. 4064
I do have a chrono but wasn't using it yesterday.
We still have snow and ice on the ground here and has been very chilly out untill just recently, with warmer weather
I will be able to do more shooting and testing out different loads.
The first mentioned load here was a very good combo.
Rifle used was a Mosin Nagant 7.62x54 CCCP variant 91/30 year 1926 Hex receiver.
Take care Comrades, shoot straight !
