Mosin Nagant91/30 PU

Good morning everyone. I read that during the Second World War Russian snipers applied some measures to the barrels and stocks of the 91/30 to improve accuracy. Does anyone know these procedures.?

From what I got, they did a batch of rifles that they took more "time" on and then test fired them and picked what they wanted as snipers.
