Found a guy selling a "Mosin Sniper" on a local forum and was curious what y'all thought about it. I have no experience in Mosins but was looking into getting one. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Scope and mount look really new but the cutout looks clean and its supposedly "numbers matching." Like I said, brand new to Mosin rifles so I have really no clue what seems right and wrong.

From what I see (only 2 bad pics) I say it's a reproduction

I appreciate the help. I figured given the price and after doing a little bit a research I could figure it wasn't exactly original.

No numbers on the barrel shank (Izhevsk Mosin) and the usual giveaway is the rough machining marks on the receiver. Snipers had more attention paid to them there even in wartime.
