1937 Izhevsk

Post by rwood1978 »

This is a 1937 Izhevsk rifle I bought to go with my 1937 Tula.
It has something that looks like hair under the sling slot screw.
The screw still has shellac in the slot so I don't know how it got under the screw and not have been shellacked over

grass maybe, maybe they were packed in hey at some point before being crated. Nice rifle,
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

It got upgraded from pre war sling slots to open wood slots ? Why? Did Bubba do it ? I'm not sure what I'm seeing, besides a Commie rifle with the Mark of the Beast.

This was a rifle of the Evil Empire remember, 666 is kind of expected. There are probably some people out there who would pay a premium price just for that serial number.
