Many years ago, when I first bought this rifle I asked if there was any information on the S2 marking on this piece. As I recall there was a lot of head scratching about the meaning or origin of the stamping. I am wondering if that has changed, or is it still among the many "unknowns." As you can see, I spilt my coke all over the piece, so I am looking for a hundred dollar bill to clean up the mess.
It is a really nice rifle with a nice looking Finn two piece stock. It hasn't had the Imperial eagle scrubbed so I am betting that it never returned to Russia after the first world war. I don't have a clue what caused that chattering drag mark down the center of the shank.

Reach out to Mangrove, I know on GB they were discussing S marked ones. PM sent with a link.

Re: M-91 Finn marking question
Has anyone ever seen a Swiss capture mark ? Check your 6.5 Steve for a "S" or a 2 like those, very distinctive font.
