Voting SNAFU........

Post by ffuries »

We did the mail in ballot thing this year. Today I had to download a form from the Supervisor of Elections website, print it out and sign it. Now I have to bring it to the Supervisor of Elections office with ID to prove who I am.

Why all this you ask! Because they/someone felt my signature wasn't my signature, so I have to sign a form attesting that my signature was my signature. WTF.......

All this so my vote can be accepted and counted.

Everything else about 2020 has been a giant clusterfuck, so why not this also?

My signature is illegible and never the same twice. That is one reason that I voted in person. I just wonder where the states are coming up with all of the "handwriting experts" to verify signatures. You have to wonder if their last job may have been licking stamps.

At least they are asking for verification. You are fortunate to have a Governor who cares enough about the vote to check. In Michigan, there will be no required verification. Months ago our socialist SOS sent out notifications and ballots to everyone that they could simply mail in. I returned it to her and told her to stick her mail-in ballot where the sun doesn't shine. This "mail in" vote was planned all along by the Dems along with their "pandemic". Who ever thought that this was a good idea or would even participate in it... well, I have to question their brain housing groups. And people... USPS? The bastion of quality control? What could go wrong??? I'm showing up in person, lines and restrictions be damned.

One of the dumbest things I've seen is crowds of people protesting For the right to vote mail in, so they wouldn't have to be out in a crowd. :bonk: It took me 5 minutes to vote.

Crowds paid for by the Democrat Party and the likes of Soros... Now, after Trump wins, you'll hear the media cry about the lost Biden votes. So predictable...

Here in Pima County, Arizona the verification is done in house by the Pima County Recorder's Office. The employees that do the signature verification are specifically trained for that purpose by experts and the Recorder's Office takes pride in their accuracy rates. I suspect that the same is true in most other Arizona counties. We've been doing the expanded early voting by mail for so many years that the signature verification issue is old hat here.

I've been Verified!

Post by ffuries »

Well went and proved that I am me, and it was me who signed my ballot envelope.

When I first showed up at the Supervisor of Elections office, I was directed to a help window. Lady was polite and said I needed to go down the hall to such and such window. She said you can't miss it, when you see, her words not mine, the "Pretty Lady" you'll know you're at the right window.

OK, whatever went down the hall, found the window and I hear I'll be right with you. The "Pretty Lady" came into view and I said WOW out loud, followed by whoops sorry. She laughed and said I take it so and so said look for the "Pretty Lady" again. I nodded, she asked what I needed, took the paperwork asked a few questions and I was verified and so was my vote. I did say as I was leaving, that "Pretty" was an understatement, she blushed and thanked me.

We was hot and dressed to kill.......... :Drool1: :big shock: :Drool1: :big shock: :Drool1: :big shock:

Glad to hear that the experience was relatively painless. Many of us in public service do our best to make trips to government offices as painless as possible. We also try to be as customer oriented as possible. I run the electronic filing desk for Civil and (soon) Family Law cases and deal with issues related to electronic filing. I’m the point person for all electronic filing technical issues in the Clerk’s office as I’m the most experienced person with the system. When a call gets to me, it’s my job to make the system work for the user. “I don’t know” or “I can’t resolve the issue” are not acceptable answers. I have the ability to make certain decisions to make things work and know who to contact if there’s a technical problem. I’m also the last person still with the office that has any knowledge about how the entire system actually works. I’m the only person left that did development testing and have any familiarity with the user side of the system. I’ll ask the user what actions they took and troubleshoot the issue to the point that I know it’s a case for IT to make a fix or a user issue.

One of the things I do is reject submissions that cannot be accepted for filing for some reason. If I determine that a filing must be rejected, I will attempt to contact the person submitting the filing by email or phone and explain why the filing cannot be accepted and how to correct the issues. They get my office email address and direct line. Most customers really appreciate the service that we provide and the convenience of being able to file electronically, especially in the COVID-19 situation.

Steve, do you really want to advertise your deviant extracurricular activities on a public forum. That said there isn't enough bleach to wash your drag image out of my eyes and brain......

Early voting ballots are being tabulated here in Arizona. Maricopa County and Pima County started last week and I’m certain the other counties have started by now. Only information being provided right now are statistics regarding the number of ballots received so far. It’s going to be a record turnout. I’m not expecting the Republicans to do well in the federal election. However, I expect them to retain their majority in the statehouse.
