1895 Izhevsk updated Cossack rifle.
I recently picked up this mosin in a trade and I know Cossacks are pretty rare but I haven’t seen much on updated/ex Cossack rifles. If anyone has any info I’d love to know. Thanks!

Do you have some photos of the rest of the rifle? The Ka3 are certainly very uncommon and to see one converted into a 91/30 even more so. Very cool item to have in your collection!

Nice rifle. I think some people have a database of the numbers of Cossacks that were in original condition, Finnish rework, updated, made into 91/38 , , Calvary School carbines, and ones made into 91/30's like yours. 1895 is an early rifle. 7.62x54r.net shows production starting in 1894 and ending in 1922. Most collectors would love to own one, and some will say it's just a 91/30. I would place a higher value on it than a regular 91/30 rifle.

In my M91/38 database, 15 of the 151 91/38s are ex-Cossacks. I don't know who has a Cossack database.

I believe that martin08 maintains that database.
