This is the second one of these I have had. My ole' buddy Millman talked me out of the first one with a trade deal I couldn't pass up over a great dinner of BBQ ribs about five years ago.. I made a venture to Gunbroker for the first time in a couple years and this beauty jumped out and made me bid on it, I won.
This is a TU-KWW .22 trainer made in China by Norinco. It is a copy of a .22 training rifle made by Mauser to get troops used to the K98 without the expense of 8mm ammunition. The party I bought it from said he couldn't prove it but he thought it was unfired, I have to agree having it in hand now. There are no records of Norinco products dates but I believe these date here to the early to mid 60's. If anybody has a better date please let me know. I have read that when Navy Arms imported these they had a mount made for a 2X scope you could buy as an extra but not original to these rifles. I had never fired the one I traded but these are supposed to be tack drivers. Maybe Millman will tell us. I have an original K98 sling to put on this and if anybody has a cheap Mauser bayonet let me know, M says a Mauser bayonet will fit. Please enjoy.

That one looks nice. I think you got a deal on it too. I was under the impression that these were brought in in the 80s and early 90s. Pre 94. Here is mine sporting a Czech 98/22 short bayo.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I had two of them. One my wife bought me for Christmas. The other one I sold. They are basically a copy of CZ rimfires. The magazines from CZ's will work. Mine is a good little shooter.

Well I sure like it. I'd be interested to see how it holds up to your mint condition Marlin 60 in a shooting contest.
