M44 Mosin 1947

Post by M44forlife »

I just purchased this 1947 M44 Mosin Nagant a few weeks back and was wandering if anyone knows a value of it or how collectible it may or may not be. Iv read up on our M44 forum and it explained a lot! It’s an all matching numbers rifle in what I think is pretty good shape. I don’t plan on selling it just curious of what I have. Thanks I’m advance guys, I’m glad to be a part of the forum.

All milsurps firearms are collectable, for that matter you would be hard pressed to find any firearm that isn't being collected by someone. 1947 is a lower production year and harder to find, this year took me longer to find than any other including 1943 trials rifle. $250-$300, but I haven't kept current on prices.

Is that bolt numbered or is it just the picture?

yes the bolt is numbered. It’s a very light etching it seems like. They seem to be hard to find in my area in good condition. No cracks in the stock and not beat to hell. What condition does the rifle look like it’s in to you guys?

I noticed when I was looking around locally the 47 was pretty rare. I only saw a few and they’ve weren’t in as good as shape as this example.

A '46 that nice went for $625 a while back. That's not a common thing though.

$625 for a rifle I paid $65 would be special indeed

Wow, that’s top dollar for these. I can see it though, they are very hard to find in such good condtion all matching. I can’t wait to see what they cost in 10 years.

Truue  I’m ready for it. I haven’t gotten to shoot this beauty yet. It’s sad ammo prices have skyrocketed for it.

According to the numbers the 1947 is a lower production year. I found mine in a crate with many other years and it was the only 47. That was a few years ago.

Mine looks to be unissued and very lightly refurbished as are many of the later years.

That’s awesome, it seems we have some pretty interesting rare rifles. Rare may be pushing it but they are very hard to find. I see a lot of 44/45s. I paid 250$ for mine and I feel that’s a fair price. Maybe even a great price.

I found one after I had given up on that year, and that was back when everyone and their brother was selling M44's. Gave up on it and then like my keys, wallet, the TV remote, stop looking for it and there it was on GB, 1947 M44.

I needed a 43 and a 47 to complete the series. Within a weeks time I did a trade to Ron for the 43 (or was it a 44 Tula?) and I won a 47 off an Auction Arms auction. Maybe tomorrow I will take a group photo.

The hole in my 44s is the '43. Two 47s and a '46 fell into my lap in about a month period several years ago.

An Avg. '46 M-44 sold for $400 yesterday, this is what's been typical the last 1-2 months. The nicer ones. I'm watching one thats sanded, buffed, polished '45 that might bring more. I think its kids don't understand collector grade paying good $ for bubba style.

Most I’ve ever paid was $200 for my 1945 M44.
