British RAF Servicing Commando knife

Post by rakysk »

Not sure where to start this topic, so please move it, if it needs to be moved.
This nice knife in local add caught my eye so I did some quick online research. Base on two websites below it looks like it is British RAF Servicing Commando knife.

https://www.combinedops.com/ROYAL_AI...G_COMMANDO.htm

It's in pretty good shape. The stitches on sheath are coming off, but rivets still hold it tight.
Any information about this knife is appreciated. Thank you.

I think VG condition compared to the other example. The stiching is easy enough for a shoe cobbler to fix. Very nice.

Very nice indeed.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

Yes, it is quite nice.
Very similar to this knife:

Don't have one to compare, but British knife seems to have narrower blade.

Looks like the Western Knives. Maybe they used the same design?

Very cool to have your Dad's Knife Dolk.

I've dabbled in WWII American Knives and gotten more into them lately. I have the RH-35, RH-36, and RH-37 amongst others. Here is 3 I recently purchased which include the RH-35 and RH-37 as well as a Kinfolks. The PAL are in U.S.N. marked sheaths.
