Finally got ahold of a nice Albanian

I've been searching for about 3 years now for a nice Albanian SKS and I picked up a nice 1977 today. It's all matching and in great condition .

When I read the thread title, I was thinking mail-order bride. But, it is about the same thing.

There is actually a Russian lady that I met at work who was a mail-order bride. She is a dirt-road sport and a fine looker. I would never have the courage to drink with her. (a man could get hurt that way)

From what I understand matching Albanian's are few and far between. Do you mind if I ask if it was a score, or did you have to pay market value?

550 is a deal Albanians, when they appear have been floating in 7-800 range on Greedbroker, one in March went for a hair over a grand.. Heck..it seems anymore, SKSs are slowly creeping above most Aks in price. A local shop has a N-PAP Yugo on the shelf $75 bucks cheaper than the Chinese SKS next to it......go figure

It's to be expected, the SKS is still legal to own in some places that have banned the AK type rifles, or restricted the AK type features to the point there is no point to owning an AK.

Ak and AR rifles are a plenty around here, some are not even moving and they are being offered for pretty much bottom dollar, but to find a SKS for sale here is few and far between. Market saturation I see driving the prices down on those high cap weapons, the SKS has moved in to the low supply and higher demand category, even in high cap legal states. Most commercial SKS models are now selling for what the upper mid range ARs bring. If another large import batch comes in, which I doubt, it would or could possibly slow the price increase on the SKS.

I'm noticing the same thing in MI, SKS prices are way up and AR / AK prices start around $400/$450.

I just committed to a Yugo M59 (without the launcher). I'll post pictures as soon as I pick it up. It needs some cleaning but looks to be in great shape.
