Mostly original 1894 Chatellerault

Post by mitch5690 »

Pics speak for itself. Mag gate was replaced however the well is still original. The front swivel was removed from the band and hand gaurd might be a replacement.

  :vcool: 123 years later you have to expect at least a few things to have needed replacement, it's a very good find.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Mitch your pics really make me wish I had braved the bad weather and stayed in your area to see that rifle. With 14 rifles on board and a weather front closing in I just wasn't brave enough to give it a try. It certainly is a looker and in many ways one of a kind! Thanks for sharing it with us. Hope you enjoy the 1892 you also got and we have more coming soon too. Happy Hunting! Bill :D
