I have used my 1940 Tula 91/30 and my Finnish M39 and this years favorite, my 1939 M27. All 3 are tack drivers, near perfect bores. I use silver bear 203`s . Mr. Deer never knew what hit him. My longest shot was about 185 yards, i went prone, propped the rifle up on a back pack. I have always enjoyed using a military rifle in it`s original condition for hunting. Used to take my 1913 Springfield 03 out but it`s worth a lot of money now and i have really taken to the mosin and Finnish rifles over the last couple of years

Yes agree. M39 in Maine will take down anything. Lead or hollow point. No fmj.

Using m39 with 180 gr Sierra .311 pro hunters over 42.5 gr of 4064. Using my m27 I load this bullet with 40 gr of 4064 to obtain a proper 100 yd zero. Also the m27 shows signs of higher pressure with the same powder charge as the m39.

Have not taken a deer with either yet, but did take a doe over the weekend with this bullet loaded in my 1916 BSA no1 mk3 over 40 gr of 4064. Bullet performed well.

I'm going to be working on reloads for my T53 for the next few months and put in for an elk tag next fall. Can't wait to take a picture of a monster elk with a T53 leaning up against it with the bayonet extended...

I use FrankenTula™ when I'm stillhuning the thick. I use my .223 Axis when I'm on a stand or covering fields.

I use Ron7.62's bear loads, which IIRC are 168 BTHP over IMR4064. I only have 5 of them left, so I back them up with my 150 gr. SP with 4064. Haven't got a shot yet with a Mosin.

North central LA within walking distance of my home. Not many neighbors.

Some almost grown bald cypress in the same swamp where I shot her.
