"Collectors Forum" - All Mosin Nagant are discussed here. Also the Russian and "Finnish capture" SVT38 and SVT40. This is an excellent place for new Mosin owners to ask questions. We have some of the best experts here looking forward to your questions. If you post a Mosin sniper rifle here, we may or may not move it to the sniper forum.
Preservation forum, please no altered military surplus rifles or discussions on altering in this forum. No sportsters. Please read the rules at the top of each forum
Better pics tomorrow. I was kind of surprised when I saw the monster of a man get out of his truck..............
Turned out to be the same ex-marine I got my very first Mosin. A red letter 1942 91/30, only it had a matching bayonet. And a cleaning rod.
Very nice guy. I still say he is 7' tall if nothing.
Nothing special about it though as far as I can see so far. A circle c is about the only stamp of note I see. I did check to see if the front sight is able to move.......... and it is.
No 200 yard range as planned next Sunday. Wife and I are going to visit our new grand daughter, Elizabeth Pearl Miller.
Congratulation's on the new grandkid grandpa, well pop's, that's not a bad looking rifle.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
Theodore Roosevelt
I brought rounds with my to the range to warm it up but decided against it until I cleaned it up and checked it out. If I can I may try the 100 yard range next Saturday, we'll see, may be two weeks..........
May not seem special now but when you pass it down to that new grand daughter I'll bet it'll be special!

Some folks give them a bad rap but I find nothing wrong with wartime examples. I envision them being assembled under duress as the Germans were marching. Now that's History.

WWII... These are the years some people avoid as they were considered by many to be war expedient.
