first mosin tomorrow

Post by runs.like »

I joined this site tonight because I am getting my first mosin tomorrow, I've been doing alot of research on the rifle but have not joined a forum until now. The funny thing is I have not yet seen the rifle but have paid for it, friend of a friends dad... that's legal here in vt. I am excited and nervous because I have no idea what I am going to get, my friend who is helping me is a certifiable gun nut, but knows little about mosins, so I am sure it'll b in shooting condition but who knows... might it be a rare sniper model or a Finnish capture? Or will it be a run of the mill 91/30?? I'll post some pictures and whatever info I can tomorrow night.

Hey, congrats! And welcome to the forum! I'll be looking forward to seeing what you get!

I've found that the "friend of a friend" guns tend to be really good ones. It could be anything...and that's a good thing :)

Again, congrats! And again, welcome!

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
