91/38 Ka3 marked

Post by Pet_My_Mosin »

Know some will say it isn't a Cossack. To me it is a Cossack on its second life with some transplants and work done to keep it going lol. My first 91/38 and my first Cossack in 91/38 configuration. [emoji2] [emoji173] last pic is in the display case next to my Finned Cossack. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

  Nice find! I haven't even seen a Cossack OR a 91\38 in the wild yet and you've got 2 Coassack stamped rifles AND one of them is a 91\38! I'm going to have to send you some money and have you start looking for one for me! Congratulations, absolutely beautiful piece.

The ones who go out of their way to mention how it's no longer "actually" a Cossak...... Yeah, I sense a little jealousy, and for good reason ! I would kill to own that rifle.

I expected it a bit. In a way they are right as far as technicalities. That being said, it's my rifle, it is not going anywhere and to me, it's Cossack #2, my Cossack, my 91/38 Cossack, etc... To just call it a 91/38 is criminal IMHO.

This one makes 10 KA3s out of 106 M91/38s in my database.

The last 91/38 KA3 I saw on Gunbroker went for $1,250 in April of this year.

That is a wonderful find. You are very lucky (and work hard to create your luck.)

Nice 91/38 with real interesting aspects to it! I am jealous of anything I don't have only I admit it openly   Have a couple 91/38's and they all seem to shout questions at me when I take them out of the safes. Wonder when and where and so much else about them? All appear to be in great refurbed almost shape if they didn't have stateside use or maybe I should say misuse. That other poster said 10 with Cossack connections on his list. Like almost 10% of all listed and you have to wonder how many more are out there? Love rifles with questions!!!! Congrats a neat group you have there. Bill

Oh yeah! Really nice one you have here. I likey.

I still hope to find one in the wild someday because I sure don't want to get in a bidding war on gunbroker when one pops up.

Very cool I picked up a 1908 Cossack 91/38 from a private sale, the same week that, I am assuming, this one sold on GB. I do not, however, have a full sized Cossack and probably never will. :vcool: :vcool: :vcool:

This wasn't a gunbroker sale. It was mislabeled as a Tula M44 at a small backwoods gunshop in Tickfaw LA

How lucky can you get!   What kind of rifle does the importer stamp label it as? I have a 91/38 with the bayonet still attached that was import labeled as an M-44 and probably was in a barrel of M-44's whenever the first owner purchased it. That makes 3 KA3's 91/38's sold in one month! That has to be a record for a rare 91/38. :beek: :beek: Very nice shank stampings BTW

That part of import mark is illegible. Mine doesn't have the bayonet assembly but you can clearly see there was one at some point.
