I have two Model 22 .40 cal. Glock Pistols and one 40. cal. Glock model 27. Which JHP extra power self defense ammo should I consider buying? I have tried Federal Premium Low Recoil JHP and Hornady Critical Defense JHP. Since I only need about 50 Rounds cost is not a real factor. I want the round with the most stopping power at 25 FT. available that can be used in my Glocks. Thanks, JGC

I don't know 40 S&W very well from personal experience but I see guys jump on the Federal HST rounds when they come around in 9mm. SGAmmo has these http://www.sgammo.com/product/federal/5 ... s-case-amm in a government contract version. I think the only difference is they aren't nickel plated brass like these. http://www.sgammo.com/product/federal/5 ... mo-p40hst1 If you're looking for +P I think they also have a version of that but I'm not sure.

Most stopping power is only important if you accurately hit what you are aiming at, so it seems that trying several rounds for accuracy would be reasonable. If you determine that one doesn't work well in your particular pistol then you could eliminate that one. Have you ever tried Winchester Ranger ammo? .40 S&W Winchester Ranger T-Series 165 gr Ammo Test: http://youtu.be/Vn-vMFaOAwE
This guy pretty much gel tests all of the top defense rounds.
