Glocks are stupid...

Post by BuckeyeSgt »

Or so I thought. I guess i just saw all the hype and thought they were over rated. Well slap me and call me Sally. I finally picked up a G19 today. Got an IWB holster and it's not as hard to conceal as I thought. Fits my hand like a glove. Maybe a 10mm next.

Also scored 400 rounds of 22mag. It was a good day.

Glocks won't win beauty contests. But they always go bang when you pull the trigger.

Sally, did you get a Gen 3 or Gen 4 with replicable back strap?

Get a 10mm, they are a blast. I have a G20 but may add a G29 if I find one cheap.

I got the Gen3. Didn't need the straps and an extra mag for another $69 bucks. I did order two more mags for $50 already though.

Ya I'm already shopping Buds for a 10.

I simply don't like the Glock, for several reasons.

I much prefer Walthers and Berettas. They fit better for one.

Its a SWR Octane9 on a Gen 3 G19. Using 147gr it is whisper quiet.
Next to it is a Gen 4 G19, all USA made, marked and proofed.

Sweet. Any difference in USA and Austrians?

Other than the GA proof marks on the barrel, slide and frame, its the same.

From what I understand, some countries wont buy from Austria so Glock makes them here to sell to them, those countries require the proofed parts and that why they have the proof stamps, even though its an added expense for Glock and not required here in the US. Due to the supply and demand issues here in the US, Glock released USA made G17, G19 and G27 here. Not too many but they are out there.

It would be stupid for me anyway, all that fancy space age technology and I would still miss with it. I do well with only two handguns, Colt army model 1860, and the Ruger Blackhawk. You think I go on about liking heavy wheelguns because I am fond of belt and suspenders to hold them up? No, it's so when I miss all six rounds and the six from the speedload I can just beat the problem to death with the revolver.

:chuckles:
Speedload an 1860, or Blackhawk!

I can speedload the 1860, I have two extra cylinders for it :) I never was much for sidearms, rifle is the weapon I prefer, I tend to like the most simple handguns. You find me defending myself with a pistol you can bet the world is ending and everything has gone to hell. M14 !

I carry a pistol everyday, either a Glock 30 or a Kimber DCP. I like to carry a .45 but play with 9mm at the range.

That said, a pistol is best used to fight you way to a rifle.

I carry an XDs45 or a Sp101 357 all the time. But this could get some rotation time.

I love my Glock. One of my favorite shooters was one in .45 GAP... Talk about a sweet pistol. I wouldn't mind me a Gen 3 G19 though.

Seems I heard that on a movie one time, I think the guy was using a Sharps rifle.
I've watched guys at IDPA shoots reload and fire wheel guns as fast as the autoloaders could, really amazed me. Then there's the guys who's pistol always jams and it's usually a Glock. I'm not much for them, seen one you've seen them all.
