Got a 42 izhevsk pu and 2 hex m44s today!

So I received my Samco shipment today which included a 42 izhevsk pu sniper and two 1945 izhevsk hex m44s. Nothing matches on any of them except one of the hex m44s has a matching buttplate. The sniper does not have a scope serial on it is that normal for an izhevsk? I don't really question the authenticity as its from samco and has a super buttery trigger.

Does the PU have the bent bolt? I am assuming it does, but your picture looks like the bolt is missing. [emoji2]

Yes it does. And lots of cosmoline in the holes and chamber. And wood in cutout definitely old.

No i asked for them. Asked for a tula sniper and hex m44s. Was tild they didnt have tula snipers ao said if they had a non 43 or 44 id still take it. Two days later got a call back saying they found a 42 izhevsk and two hex m44s.

32 izhevsk and 28 tula.

That is awesome Jon, he did you right. You have a good gun guy to deal with. Some dealers are not so accommodating. I have been thinking about this purchase you made here and finding those 2 hex carbines was a real good deal. I am glad you were able to get them.

Could some please educate me? Were these Hex M44s rebarreled by the Russians from existing 91/30? I am not familiar withHex m44s .

They recycled the receivers of 91/30's or sometimes m91's or dragoons. Barrels wore out more often than a receiver would.
