Why not just buy a stripped A2 upper and put your choice of barrel on it?

If I were in the market, especially for a good quality complete upper I'd be buying this...

They have free shipping on AR uppers right now also for 24 hrs. Then to make things even more confusing look through here, there's a crap load of them. http://gun-deals.com/index.php?dealtype ... 3&subcat=7

The biggest problem will be that particular combination, the A2 with a 20" barrel. Everyone pushes the 16" as they can churn them out faster and cheaper.

The Palmetto State Armory upper I posted is a complete 20 inch A2 profile Cold Hammer Forged complete upper with bolt carrier group and charging handle. I should have put that in the previous post. Personally, I like 16 inch barreled AR's, and I've been very satisfied with the accuracy I've gotten from them. Down the road I do want to build a "retro" A2 AR though.

It has the A2 profile front sight block, but the A2 receiver has the carry handle as a part of the upper, you don't have to use one of the add-on carry handles on it.

I love the standard 20" A2 rifle. You don't see them too often and it seems like most places don't stock them.

I have an awesome upper. WOA. 6 month wait but well worth it.

I want to do a retro A1 rifle with the correct grey color.

I really like the look of that one Lee. I've seen a few places that have the demilled Colt Military parts kits http://www.royaltigerimports.com/product-p/ar150011.htm but they tend to be expensive and most claim to have some cracked or broken furniture. Royal Tiger Imports is one place but they also have these now. http://www.royaltigerimports.com/produc ... er0015.htm If I ever get one I want it to look like this or as close to military. I just really like that Vietnam era look. It's from when I was a kid.

A1 build option also...

First one is out of stock. Second one I'd have to find a barrel.

I have a Palmetto M4 carbine length Premium upper with an FN barrel, and I have a Palmetto mid length cold hammer forged FN barreled upper also. I've also built several AR's for friends and relatives with the Premium FN barreled Palmetto uppers, and they've all been well made with very good fit and finish. Most importantly, they all shoot very well. My Palmetto M4 upper outshoots my Colt LE6920.

This is what I used when I built mine. And I love it! You have to keep an eye on them, they were in stock just a couple weeks ago. I'm sure they will be again soon.

Yea Lee.I really like the looks of that one. I carried an M-16 for awhile and always thought it would be nice if I could improve it like they do to AR's these days.I have a VEPR with a 20" barrel and a 7.62X54R VEPR with a 23" barrel and the longer ones are just more accurate than the regular 16" standard issue. It's why I like the Regular MN lengths over the shorter Chinese versions .Good Luck  JGC
