2nd AR-15 Build is finally done

Post by kamakazi339 »

After paying for the upper forever ago and waiting on it for 3 months It finally arrived today! I have to say that I personally think the upper is beautiful. :Drool1: :Drool1: :Drool1: Its built amazingly well and is surprisingly lite. This marks the end of my second AR build and makes it my 3rd overall AR. Now ive got to begin a build for my girlfriends first AR. That should be interesting... any ideas?

Oh and that's my favorite mag pictured. I know I know its not much different from all the other GI mags but it was in every firefight with me in Afghan and never jammed once..... I call him "Lucky"

Those are just bad arse. I'd keep that mag too. There are never enough lucky charms in a firefight. If you do a pink AR I'm going to tell your buddies it's yours. :chuckles:

Building the Lego rifles is kinda addicting, I finished my third and got the scope and irons all sighted in a couple weekends ago, now telling myself I don't need to build a fourth.

I want to get a cheap but decent lower for my girlfriends build. Not that im wanting to go cheap for her but I don't know how much shes even really gonna shoot it. I was looking at those Anderson lowers (shed like the pony on it) any experience with them?

Also love to see you supporting Ares Armor as well. The next AR part I buy will be Ares.

Anderson has had some spotty quality issues over the past year but they upped their inspection on parts, which is why you'll find more blem uppers and lowers being offered than they used to. Pretty much cosmetic issues, I have bought blems from several manufacturers and seriously just found minor deficiencies that I had to search to find, on one upper I never did find why it was considered blemished. If you watch slickguns.com they offer specials on there quite often.

I buy whatever lowers I can pick up local. Spikes are good quality and are priced right. Not as cheap as PSA or Anderson but you don't have the hassle of buying and getting it shipped to a FFL.
I have a billet lower in the safe, not sure what to do with it yet.

Oh, nothing wrong with pink, the girls love to shoot a pink AR.

Just find you a local FFL and have it sent to them. There's an FFL locator on Gunbroker and a couple of other sites. You just figure out what lower you want to buy, then have the FFL send their info to the seller, when it arrives you go pay the transfer, fill out the 4473 and pass the background check and ready to build!
