Back atcha NY State Govt.

Post by vblue42 »

So not only have the politicians in states like CO (Magpul case) and now NY not done anything to reduce gun crimes by their senseless passing of ludicrous gun laws, they now have forced thousands into unemployment by forcing the gun manufactures that reside in their state to move elsewhere. Remington is yet another major gun company that will be moving to another more friendly gun state. I say good for them and a tragedy to the countless employees that will not be able to move with the company. It will be interesting to see what the next election does for the jobs of these politicians that just don't get it. And congrats to the state of AL for landing a great company like Remington.

Kahr has moved their headquarters and started to transfer manufacturing from NY into PA.

How could you, with a good conscience run a business in a state where your product is not welcome.

Good for Alabama! Just going to throw this out there, but the Civil war was won largely due to manufacturing. Is it really wise for state governments like this to snub their holier than thou nose at companies that put meat on peoples table?

Beretta decided to expand but due to the anti gun climate and restrictions recently passed by the State of Maryland they expanding in Tennessee. Their US headquarters will remain in Maryland but who knows how long?

NYC is the problem, if it was left to upstate voters the leftists would be gone and the state solid red, but the huge population of NYC sways elections in favor of tax and spend lefty's, and anti gun idiots like Mario Cuomo's little boy.

Eh it kind of grows on ya. I have a Stag Arms model 2 with Thordsen FRS-15 stock just like the gun shown in that article. Here in the peoples republic of New Yorkistan we have to make things work or we have to give in to Mien Fuhrer Cuomo. Some guys I know feel that making these changes is giving in. The way I see it is that selling my gun or hiding it in the gun safe forever is giving in. This is just my 2 cents and it may not even be worth that much ;-)

BTW here is another way that makes the gun legal here. The spur http://ar15spur.com/. I have shouldered one with this device and I didn't like it. I didn't feel as if I had a good grip on the rifle. The Thordsen stock still allows for a good grip on the rifle.

I live about 10 miles from Ilion (home of Remington Arms) and the whole area is sweating over this move. People that didn't give a hoot about the Safe law are now coming out of the wood work in defense of gun rights and the 2nd amendment. It's sad that it took the potential loss of so many jobs to make people wake up and see what this law really was doing. Anyways, I'll keep the politics to minimum here.

The crying shame about this is even when people wake up it will be too late to avoid the ramifications of loosing a company like Remington. You can't get that back.

Will it ever change? I wish we could break off New York City into a District (Like Washington, D.C.) and let the rest of NY return to sanity.

It seems Maryland based Beretta is headed in the same direction. They aren't closing the plant there....yet but are building a new plant for "product expansion" in Alabama. It's only a matter of time before they pull up stakes and leave taking the 78 million in tax revenue and 400 jobs. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/201 ... s-not-lea/

I can't imagine that gun laws would really get a ton of people to move but I did hear the other day that New Jersey, New York and Illinois are losing their populations at the highest rate. They got their data from statistics kept my a moving company.

New York is losing population, maybe we can export 8 million socialist idiots to Alabama along with Remington. That would improve things here greatly :)

If the socialists come down south they'll probably be used for target practice.

well, you east toasties aren't the only ones with issues. We have a horrible blend here. Those who want to rid the land of guns (started with the helmet law I tell ya!!) Who are being pandered and swayed by those that want their buck any way they can get it.

It would certainly improve things there and they wouldn't last 5 seconds down here. Send em on.

They may not last 5 seconds there, but we don't need all the extra socialist idiots passing through here spreading their funk, trashin up the area and screwing up what we have. That funk is bad juju
Who knows, they may not even make, well lets say they would have a rough trip :devil2: :chuckles:

I am glad to see manufactures standing up to lawmakers, the manufactures ought to step it up to another level and stop selling or supporting the state gov't as well.

How about you just take 2 million and we send the rest to Mississippi?
