Want to share with information, that is related to sniper SVT's. Most of the serial numbers were gathered with help of other collectors, so please add serials that you have.
Sniper SVT's can be splitted into 2 groups :
1) Factory issued. These are sniper rifles produced in 1941 (38006) and 1942 (14220) by plant #314 Tula\Mednogorsk.
In this list I will track only these rifles, that have correct notch shape with flat bottom and rounded corners.
2) Field made snipers - these could be any SVT with factory rails and field made notch
There is no sence to track them, because there is no any logic in their serials.

1941 Tula sniper rifles
I have assumption, that all sniper SVT's produced in 1941 by plant #314 Tula, are grouped in letter prefixes, and have numerical prefixes less then 2000.
Serial numbers at all known original scope mounts are also match criterias above.
Most of them are additionaly marked with C mark at the righr side of the receiver, but some rifles don't have it
1942 Mednogorsk sniper rifles
Rule "numerical prefix less than 2000" is not correct for them. Regular and sniper rifles can be mixed in one prefix, but all known sniper rifles are grouped in few prefixes.
It is harder to gather information about 1942 SVT snipers, because they are more scarce, and I can't track 1942 letter prefixes from mounts - in 1942 only numerical prefix was stamped at mounts.
