The Affordable Mauser

Post by redspoon »

If you have plenty of wartime 91/30's and are waiting for just the right older Russian or Finn mosin, here's a fix for your milsurp addiction: The Turk Mauser. Now days for about the same price these are a nice change of pace. Won these two on GB recently.
K kale 1946 $175
K kale 1943 $125
They both came with bayonets and the one for $125 also came with 20 rds. of Remington 8mm mauser.
The 43 also had brass screws in the butt plate and rear sling swivel and a brass cleaning rod, for me it's the first brass cleaning rod i've seen on a milsurp rifle. Not sure if it's a re-pop but it was well worn and looked old. Headspace was real good on both and nice shooters, just kinda hard to see the tiny V rear sight.

Nice rifles you found, good looking wood grain on the rifle pictured on the left. Some came with brass cleaning rods, my Turk 38 has brass screws and a brass cleaning rod also.

Turkish Mausers are cool. Just don't listen to Rongo. Before I knew it I had bought 8 of them.

Yes, it is. As for the GEW88, all the Turk rifles are Pattern 1938 no matter what receiver was used.

The post WW1 rebuilt rifles anyway, not the 7,65mm originals.

Very few milsurps have attached bayonets, no US rifles does, not even the modern M4's. The Italians, and Japanese both had a carbine with attached bayonet as did the commies, and later the Egyptians with the Rasheed. It adds extra weight to the weapon, and eliminates the bayonet being used as a tool or fighting knife.

I see next to nothing when using Mauser sights, been that way for years, waiting for me to line up a shot with a Mauser is like waiting for a little old lady to drive through a busy intersection.
