The smell would eventually come out. Remember what happened when the hounds got sent in after Rambo? Word has it that the fox's have been buying heavily from a former Soviet republic, small arms, bombs, rockets. The Racoons have got themselves a small nuclear device, and they are getting liquored up to use it, hope your towns homeowners insurance is paid up.

Fox fur was popular in the 70's among inner city street corner entrepreneurs, the look went well with the leopard seat covers in their Cadillac Eldorado convertibles.
Royal Marine drummers have traditionally worn animal skins over their dress uniforms. Bass drummer wears a full tiger skin and tenor drummers wear leopard skins.

A holdover from Britain's colonial past I am sure.

Indeed and use of pelts that would otherwise go to waste. The pelts are provided by Commonwealth nations from nuisance animals that are culled for public safety. Bear pelts for the bearskins and busbys come from Canada while the African and Indian Commonwealth nations provide the big cat pelts.

I sure can imagine that. It's the UK-they don't readily give up tradition. The Royal Navy still does field gun races and ceremonial mast manning exercises. Mast manning is military drill-just climbing up, maneuvering on and descending a 100 foot mast in step, accompanied by slow marches played by the Band of the Royal Marines. The Royal Marines also periodically exercise the Freedom of the City of London granted many, many years ago by marching into and through the City of London with drums beating and rifles with bayonets fixed.

Well, they did have that rioting issue a few years back, probably good to have the Royal Marines familiar with the city streets.
