Amazing how probably one shipment of rifles went to a Russian unit and were captured by the Finns and two ended up in the DFW area. Probably came from the same Soviet division.

Hey Bunky, I have a Finn with a blued bolt, too. Do you know the story behind that? Yours is the only other I've seen like that, that I've noticed anyway.

No I don't know much about it, but all of the searching I have done about it turned up only vague comments. It seems apparent that the Finns didn't blue that many, and it didn't appear that they were trying to cover any defect, so I trend to think that they had a specific purpose. Perhaps night time use? That is my thought, and nothing that I have seen anywhere else. When I won this auction the blued bolt was not mentioned in the description, and the pics were not in the best light but I saw the blued bolt and had to have it. Can you get pics of yours?

Sure, will do. I mentioned it in another thread and MN Fan wanted me to get pics of it... I was procrastinating like I tend to do :?
I'll take some pics and post them in the original thread.

My 1927 Tikkakoski M91 built on a 1894 Izhevsk receiver. The barrel on this one has been trimmed and set back. Typical two peice Finnish stock, with a repair behind the tang.

Are you talking about the Type 30 and the M28/30 that I've got in the showcase or rifles in the big group shot?

Lol, now I'm just more confused.

In group shot L-R: 1967 M39, 1969 M39, 1942 Tikka M39, 1944 VKT M39, B M39, 1941 SAKO M39 PL marked in straight stock, 1943 Sk.Y M39, 1943 SAKO M39, 1941 Tikka M91 Pl marked (traded off), 1941 Tikka M91 PL marked, B/VKT/Liege proofed M91, 1927 Tikka M91, N.E.W. M91, 1898 Sestroryetsk M91, P-27, B.S. M24, Tikka M28, SIG M28, 1932 Tikka M27, 1943 Tikka M91/30 round receiver, 1938 Tula M91/30, 1899 M96 Swedish Mauser, 1939 M38 Carcano

You can read about Finnish Arisakas here.

And of course the the second from bottom is detailed in the showcase. The bottom one is an original 1940 M28/30.
