Ah, the sweet smell of cosmoline. :ani-pop: And HOLLY CRAP these things are crazy packed with this stuff. Im boiling all the parts to get most of it off and now my whole apartment smells.

In the summertime, you can disassemble them and stick them in a garbage bag and put it in your car. I put mine on the dash. throw in a few paper towels and wait a couple hours. It wipes right off... :thumbsup:

I just aquired a 24/47. Haven't shot it yet, maybe this weekend if the rain lets up.

My M48. $250.00 and had never been fired. It's a nice rifle. I was at Cableas in Glendale, Arizona a couple fo weeks ago and they had racks of nice, clean 24/47s for $269.00. I don't think you'll go wrong with either but you will dig your M48.

One thing I learned from this adventure with this rifle and the cosmoline, a pot of boiling water works wonders on the small parts.
