No, it only makes me fat, or rather it did, now it seems it was the bread and rice doing that, not the spam. I eat more spam now and I am losing weight.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

It is a mistake to cook it. If you cook it, you can taste it. Best served on bread with a lot of mayo and mustard.

I am saving that for when I am in a bunker someplace with no way to cook it and too much fallout to go gathering wood for a fire.

Ground up ham and spices, it's a pretty basic formula.

Spam is ground up pork shoulder.Basically shoulder ham, IE Spam.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Tis true.

As to what cut of pork is used - reminds me of the old saying - 'Is a hog's ass pork?" IOW is there any part of a hog that is not pork (except for the squeal of course).
