Made in America or not made at all

Post by bunkysdad »

ImageImageImageImageImageImageWhich gun mfg has these words for their company motto? Did you say Henry? And in New York no less! This Henry Golden Boy 22lr is the rifle that my brother and I went halves on and ordered the engraved receiver cover then presented it to my son Thomas for his 18th birthday. Then later that day loaded up the Henry and hit the range. The heft of this gun is difficult to describe. The heavy barrel is octagon which makes it feel like a bull barrel and the weight if it reduces the recoil down to the feel of a Red Ryder. I hope he will always cherish it, like so many if us do our first gun. So many times a first is a 22, and nobody should be without one of some type.
I wish you guys that can would take time to post more rimfires here when you can.

That is gorgeous! :Drool1:

Yeah, he will cherish that for a lifetime. Your grandkids will too.

Wow, what a rifle! What a present! What a Dad and Uncle!

Somehow this post makes me appreciate my Henry all that much more...and I already love the dang thing.

I was thinking today of posting the other two Mossbergs and the Marlin Model .75 up this week. I really do love these small caliber rifles :)

Very nice Russell!

Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Nice rifle! I bought a Henry H001T Frontier last year and its one of my favorite .22 rifles right now. You gotta love that its made in the USA from USA materials. Heck even the wood for the stocks was grown in my home state of Missouri! I plan on buying a Golden Boy when I can afford it to give to my future son in law.

They opened in Brooklyn but moved across the harbor to Bayonne NJ when they expanded a few years ago.
My H001 .22LR (from NJ) has become my go to gun for general shooting, letting me keep my .30-30 quiet to save $$$.
So far:
Daisy Red Ryder, Henry H001 .22, scoped Marlin .30-30,
Mossberg 702 Plinkster, Maverick 88 pump 12 ga.
1939 Izhevsk Mosin-Nagant 91/30,
Ruger P89, 22/45, & LCP.
