1889 Winchester Model 1873

Post by smacneighill »

I have acquired this from my dad (which I have been acquiring most of my father's firearms . . and will acquire the remainder of them, as he says, LOL). Well, this rifle he's had for many, many years. I finally was able to ask him to let me see about restoring it (mainly replacing broken or missing parts). After having this rifle in my home for a little bit, I have fallen in love with it. Now I cannot wait to get the replacement parts, and get her back to her functioning state.

Well, here are a few pics of it. Again, its a Winchester Model 1873, dated 1889, .32-20 caliber.

Very cool.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
