Turn in rifle

Post by rwood1978 »

I bought this rifle as a turn in.
It was missing the magazine spring and floor plate and had a piece of nail for a trigger pin. I replaced the missing parts.
It has what looks like where someone screwed sling swivels to the stock. The rear hole has a piece of broken screw still in the hole.
It doesn't have an import stamp. Just the serial number stamped on the side of the receiver written in english.

the import may be tiny and up by the muzzle, hard to see. Does look like a Balkans used rifle, and it has the assigned serial number placed on the receiver as is mandated. Later on this would be engraved, and include more information. The so called banner type import mark. These issued rifles are the most interesting, always full of crude repairs and other odd stuff like the holes.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
