If you could post some pictures of your rifle, I’m sure that will help some of these guys to give you a better idea.

Think about how much you like your rifle and how many hundred dollar bills someone would have to drop on the table in front of you before you were tempted to sell it. That's different for everybody, I have some rifles with a current market value of a few hundred that I wouldn't part with for a few thousand, sentimental value. Since the gun buying panic that's been going on since late last year started there doesn't seem to be a set in stone value on any firearm. I have seen people pay several hundred dollars or more for rusty single shot shotguns that I couldn't sell for under a hundred in 2019. Of course much would depend on what kind of Mosin it is, common 1943 Izhevsk 91/30 Soviet refurb, or one of the Finn built Mosins, maybe an early carbine. Vast differences in price between these even with the boost regular models are getting of late.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Mosin Nagant. Mosen is a brand of blackhead remover.

These rifles are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Anymore, it's kind of difficult to respond with anything other than a price range. Check out places like GunBroker "sold rifles" to determine the general value of these rifles. But value, in most cases, is determined by a lot of things so numerous that it would be hard to list them all here. Knowledge is key. A collector has different views on value than an every day first time buyer. There is a run on anything and everything and new Milsurp buyers are bidding up these guns very high. Anymore there is no rhyme or reason for pricing other than scarcity and fear.
