Steyr SSG69 / ZF84 Kahles sniper rifle

Post by Miller Tyme »

Spent this past weekend in Paris Tenn. attending the Henry County Gun Club Vintage Sniper Rifle World Championship and came home with another toy, a virtually NIB 1986 Steyr SSG69 w/ Kahles ZF84 scope. Really looking forward to getting this to the range and doing a shoot out with my M40

Cool
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I have an old 2006 Guns magazine with an article about that rifle. The guy gushes over it. If I can scan it, I'll send it to you.

That would be fantastic sir. Just from doing some dry fire drills I have to say the 60° bolt rotation is nice and it has probably the best trigger I have ever felt.

I tried to get my scanner to work, but no luck. I will bring the magazine to work with me and use the one here. Give me a day or so.

I got some pics of the article. I never got to the scanner. I think the pics are big enough to zoom in on and read.
