Hey guys, what do you think about this rifle? Appears to be a sniper, but numbers on the left side of the shank are in somewhat unusual font. Scope appears to Yoshkar Ola original, reworked in Poland in 1967. Bolt is strange, appearing to be nickelled? No marks on the mount, no import marks in regular spots - receiver, shank or barrel bottom. Any thoughts what it is? Resniper? Put together?
Also, don’t want to offend anybody, but huge shout out to Darryl and Miller - I have read almost all your posts going several years back - what a stash of info!

Mount seems to be properly milled.

Give it a better look latter when i get to my computer but so far it looks pretty good.
Are there any inspection marks on the right side of the but stock?
If so grab a few picks and post them up.

Izhevsk sniper - 4450000 should be number of original scope. But absence of letters "BT" on bolt, mag and buttplate means force matched. Don´t see on mag, but bolt and buttplate Izhevsk too.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you Rtop01, I have look over the pics and I can say that I am about 80% convinced at this point it is a Polish refurbed PU sniper. The finish looks Polish, the bluing is better than 1943 Russian, the rear sight is in the white, and the scope is a Polish refurb. I see what could be the inspection inspection marking on the butt stock I was looking for ( see pic).
Very intrested to hear what you find sir
Regards

It might pay for you to give it a good once over and look for off color ( purplish) blueing on small parts , or Polish "Y" inspection marks on small parts (see pics)Very intrested to hear what you find sir

No Y stamps anywhere, just arrows in triangles.
