Does anyone have a photo of a thong tied sling installed on a rifle? I’m trying to figure out how exactly it’s installed.

Does anyone have a photo of a thong tied sling installed on a rifle? I’m trying to figure out how exactly it’s installed.

If it has four holes on the lace end, the common way is to form a X and I usually tie it off with a square knot, with the knot facing the rifle. Hope this makes sense to you.

Some people do a double bar (Vertical or horizontal) instead of a X, in the end it up to how you want to do it.

Does anyone make a colored waterproof depends? For the beach! If this idea makes me rich the rifle boxes will be piled high in my wigwam.

I’ll try to get back on topic.
What is the 1” square leather piece attached to the straps?
In the future I will refrain from using the word “thong” so as to not trigger anyone predisposed to underwear weirdness.

Sorry for the hijack That Smoky Mt. rocket fuel made me long time ago. I'll get pictures of the 1" square, 2 slots in it ? Get em on here In a couple hrs. I've dug out two examples of thong slings the way I did them. They might even be correct. If you haven't already, oil the hell out of all the leather.

Hope that helps. The wider one is on a M38 laminate and the other a 1916 Tula M 91. There is a buckle type on the 91/59 I just posted.

I have mine set up just like your pics. I just can’t figure out the leather squares purpose or placement.

I struggled with the same question. Right or wrong, I have the "washer" against the stock on the port side. If you get a definitive answer, post it up.

I also tie mine with a square knot. (right over left, left over right)
