Muzzle loader range rod

If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

Muzzle loader range rod

Post by bunkysdad »

When shooting my BP rifles I use a range rod instead of the rifle's ram rod. I have had this fiberglass rod for over 20 years I'm sure. It was made by TC but they don't make it any more. They do have a current model however. I was looking for another yellow one like this awhile back and they never seen to show up on Ebay. Maybe they didn't last as long as mine has. :)

Think nothing of it.

Make thee one from hardware store dowel rod and a piece of rake handle, or 2X2, make a T-handle. Cut off 3" dowel and make a short starter on one side. work goode.

Any extra rod is better than the one under the barrel that is limited in length...I like a longer loading and cleaning rod...wood is fine for me. The only time I'd use the rifles rod is if hunting or afield walking.
Also a good idea to have your ball puller and other jags with....one never knows.
