A nice little Mauser - Dutch "Wilhelmina" police carbine

Post by 7x57 »

Gentlemen, may I introduce the latest inhabitant of my gun safe? Here it is - an all-matching Dutch police carbine, stamped with the Queen Wilhelmina crest and made by FN in 1947. A thorough inspection revealed that all parts still seem to be original - where applicable, they have the correct FN inspection and date markings for 1947.
Bore is a dream - mirror bright with sharp rifling. Not pictured here is the original FN muzzle protector (of that usual Mauser flip up type) which came together with the rifle. This protector is also stamped with a three-digit number on the front of the flap, but this doesn't match the rifle's serial number.

Very nice. I bet that one is a fire breather.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Sweet catch, I've yet to see one in the wild! Thank it would be cool to find one as my Mom and her family were/are from Holland, my Uncle, Aunt and 2 Cousins are living there still.
